Symptoms

Even off line you may receive inappropriate invites to chat sessions.

Cause

This is caused by a program on your machine titled Windows Messenger.

Resolution

This applies only to Windows XP with Service Pack 1

To remove the Windows Messenger program, follow the steps below:

1. Open Control Panel
2. Open Add / Remove Programs
3. Click on "Add/Remove Windows Components" on the left
4. Uncheck "Windows Messenger"
5. Click "NEXT"
6. Click "Finish"
7. Reboot
