Symptoms

Computer attempts to connect to the internet independently, without users authorization.

Resolution

To stop this from happening, follow the steps below:

1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Click on Tools
3. Internet Options
4. Click on the Connections tab
5. Put a dot in the circle labeled ‘Never dial a connection.’

If this doesn’t solve the problem follow the steps below:

1. Click on Start
2. Control Panel
3. Network Connections
4. Click on Advanced at the top of the page
5. Dialing Preferences
6. There are two options at the bottom: DISABLE AUTODIALING WHILE I AM LOGGED ON and ALWAYS ASK BEFORE AUTODIALING, check these accordingly.
