Reconfiguring an Existing Windows XP Connection

 

1. Click on Start,

2. Go to Control Panel, a Control Panel window should open.

3. Click switch to Classic View along the left hand side

4. Double click on Network Connections icon

2. Right Click on ChiliTech and Select Properties.

3. A ChiliTech Properties Window should appear. Make sure there is no check in Use Dialing rules.

4. To add Alternate dial up numbers for your area click Alternates

5. Click the Options Tab. Make sure that Include Windows logon domain is not checked in.

6. To view the X.25 settings click the X.25 button.

 

7. Click the Security tab along the top of the ChiliTech Properties window. Make sure that the Security options are set to Typical (recommended settings) and Validate my identity as follows: is set to Allow Unsecured password.

8. Click the Networking tab. Make sure the Type of dial-up server I am calling is PPP: Windows 95/98/NT4/2000, Internet. Make sure that Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and QoS Packet Scheduler are checked in.

 

9. View the PPP Settings by clicking the Settings.

10. View the TCP/IP Properties by selecting Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and select Properties.

 

11. Click the Advanced tab make sure that no options are checked in on this screen.
